Susan F. E. Bruhnke
Susan F. E. Bruhnke was born in Biloxi, Mississippi while her father was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Alabama in 1994, where she received a dual degree in Criminal Justice and German. While attending USA, she acted as President, Treasurer and Panhellenic Delegate for the Zeta Tau Alpha Social Fraternity. She was also Vice President of the Order of Omega, member of the Mortar Board, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society and Alpha Chi National Honor Society. Upon graduation, Susan received a scholarship to participate in an exchange program at the University of Passau in Germany where she attended school for one year. In 1999 she received her Juris Doctor Degree, cum laude, from the University of Mississippi School of Law, where she was a member of the National Security Law Journal and Moot Court Board. After graduation, she served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable James E. Thomas, Mississippi State Court of Appeals.
Susan joined Franke & Salloum in 2000 and became a Partner in the firm in 2007. She is admitted to practice in Alabama and all State and Federal Courts in Mississippi and before the Fifth and Eleventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. Mrs. Bruhnke is a member of the Harrison County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Mississippi State Bar, and the Mississippi Defense Lawyers Association. She practices in the area of workers’ compensation defense under the Mississippi’s Workers’ Compensation Act and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, as well as insurance defense litigation. Susan carries an AV Legal Ability Rating with the Martindale Hubbell Legal Directory.
Susan and her husband, Matthew, a Lieutenant in the Gulfport Fire Department, have four children. They reside in Biloxi, Mississippi and are members of Michael Memorial Baptist Church.
