Shellye V. McDonald

Shellye V. McDonald is originally from Oxford, Mississippi.  She graduated from the University of Mississippi and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1982 and her law degree in 1985.  

Following graduation from law school, she moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast where she engaged in a defense practice working in the areas of health insurance defense, medical malpractice, legal malpractice and personal injury defense.

In 1999, Shellye went to work as the Risk Manager for the area’s largest casino company, where she later served in the position of Regional Claims Manager for multiple properties.

She has tried cases defending bad faith insurance claims, breach of contract, premises liability, workers compensation and fraud. 

In 2003, Shellye returned to her roots in defense practice, working primarily in the areas of medical malpractice and general insurance defense. 

Shellye is admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts in Mississippi as well as the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.  She is a member of the Harrison County Bar Association, the Mississippi Bar Association and the American Bar Association. 

Shellye and her two daughters live in Diamondhead, Mississippi.
